Tangerine Balsamic Glazed Ham

Excellent recipe for Easter dinner or as a sugar shack meal 🍁

Glazed ham

4-6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Tuscan herb olive oil
  • 1/4 cup tangerine balsamic
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 bone-in ham cut into spirals, 8 to 10 lb.
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • Tangerines, basil, rosemary and sprigs of thyme for garnish

Glazed ham

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Tuscan herb olive oil
  • 1/4 cup tangerine balsamic
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 bone-in ham cut into spirals, 8 to 10 lb.
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • Tangerines, basil, rosemary and sprigs of thyme for garnish

Preparation

  1. Remove the ham from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 1 hour before roasting.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and add a rack to elevate the ham from the tray.
  3. Combine olive oil, balsamic, brown sugar, honey and Dijon mustard in a saucepan and whisk to combine.
  4. Slowly bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, whisking frequently, and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved. To book.
  5. Place the ham on the grill and pour the broth into the bottom of the plate.
  6. Brush the ham with about 1/2 cup of the mixture, cover with foil and place in the oven. Cook for 1 hour.
  7. Remove the roasting pan from the oven, remove the foil and baste with the cooking juices.
  8. Brush the ham with another 1/2 cup of the mixture and increase the oven temperature to 425°F.
  9. Return the ham to the oven and continue cooking for 30 minutes, but basting with the mixture every 10 minutes.
  10. Keep an eye on the ham, if left unattended the glaze could burn.
  11. Remove the ham from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  12. Garnish with tangerines and fresh herbs.
